All our cattle are born and raised on farm assured farms and transported by farm assured hauliers. Complete traceability is guaranteed. We work closely with all of our farmers, most of whom we’ve known for a long time - so we know exactly where our cattle come from and our procurement team helps select cattle that are finished to optimum specification.

In accordance with our environmental policy we trunk the beef overnight to our abattoirs and it's here that we earn our reputation for premier butchery skills. The knowledge within the team means we can do the most intricate jobs.

Our trimming skills are unique. And we know which is the right muscle for the right product. Our expertise means there's no need for our customers to have in-house butchers. They can rely on us.

We advise on the best cuts for ready meals and further processing, help customers achieve price points and educate buyers on the various options available. Our customers are not just in safe hands, they're in the expert hands of our key account managers, who were either once butchers themselves or have extensive meat industry experience.

The majority of the cattle that A.P. Jess process are from farm assured farms and are also transported to Sandyford Abattoir by farm assured hauliers. We have a very good working relationship with all of our farmers and we have dealt with them all for a long time. This ensures that we can source cattle being safe in the knowledge that they have been well maintained and finished to the optimum standard.

The beef is carefully looked after through the slaughter process ensuring the carcasses have the optimum dressing for butchery by the time they arrive at A.P. Jess Ltd. A. P. Thereafter our highly skilled trimming team tailor the product to any individual customer requirements. With a wealth of knowledge and experience our guys on the floor know the best cuts of meat to use for the right jobs, we do the work so that you don't have to.

All of our sales team come from a butchery and meat production background and are only happy to give advise on what the best cuts of meat are to use for certain jobs; stewing, roasting or frying etc. Over and above this they will inform you of any cheaper alternatives available to help your price points and keep your options open.
